About Course
This course equips learners with essential foundational knowledge to act as a basic first aid responder — recognizing emergencies, providing immediate stabilizing care, and understanding when and how to escalate to professional medical help.
First aid responders are frontline support: they provide immediate, practical care to someone who is ill or injured, often under pressure, until more advanced medical help arrives. This course builds that foundational knowledge and awareness.
Important: This is a knowledge-based awareness course and is not an accredited or government-certified qualification. Several of the practical skills covered here — including CPR and AED use — require hands-on, supervised practice to be performed safely and confidently, and cannot be certified through online study alone. Learners who need a workplace-recognized or legally required first aid certificate (for example, for OHS compliance) should complete a practical course through an accredited first aid training provider in addition to this course.
